.EMPOWER is an 8-week set of individual counseling sessions that are called confidence classes targeted at building confidence for adolescents. Adolescence is a time of asking questions and forming ones identity including a search for feelings of acceptance and belongingness. This is an opportunity to learn skills to build self-esteem and to instill a belief system of self-love, self-compassion and dignity. Through this 8-week process that is also individually tailored; negative thoughts and beliefs from past and present experiences are worked through, if applicable.
This is a time for growth and healing in order to recognize how adversity can give you strength. Classes are based on evidence-based therapeutic approaches that are eclectic and holistic in nature depending upon each client's needs with an emphasis on cognitive behavioral therapy and positive psychology. These classes are for anyone looking to feel better about themselves and grow into the beautiful person they were meant to be.
